This historical
Milwaukee home underwent a complete dormer roof restoration, featuring a handcrafted copper roof system and surrounding shingle replacement. The curved "eyebrow dormer", originally covered with deteriorated steel, was carefully restored to its former elegance while upgrading to modern, long-lasting materials.
Our team at Modern Exterior Roofing removed the damaged roof covering, flashing, and trim, then installed new high-quality dimensional shingles to perfectly match the home’s existing roof. Ice and water barriers were applied for superior weather protection, ensuring the surrounding roof areas remain watertight and resilient through Wisconsin’s changing seasons.
The new copper dormer roof was custom-fabricated and hand-formed to match the dormer’s unique barrel radius. Every seam was joined using traditional copper lock seam techniques with soldered and welded joints, creating a watertight, high-performance system that outperforms mechanical-only fastening methods.
To complete the restoration, we refreshed the window and trim work, ensuring a seamless, historically accurate finish. This
Milwaukee dormer restoration project not only enhances curb appeal but also improves roof durability, energy efficiency, and long-term value.
A true blend of craftsmanship, historical preservation, and modern roofing excellence.
