I recently had them install a new roof and gutter system. Roof was a tear-off. They put a waterproof underlayment under the new shingles and replaced some OSB. My chimney had some bad bricks. They repaired it and tuck pointed it. Quality job and price was good. Regarding the gutter system, at first I just wanted gutter guards. I mentioned that even when the gutters aren't clogged with leaves, if there is a hard rain, the rain will go over the gutters. He explained the reason is my downspouts were too small. I had 2x3". So got a new gutter system with larger downspouts at 3x4" and guards. Pricing very reasonable on those as well.

I was nervous at first. If I picked the right company or not. I picked Modern Exterior over three other quotes. Manley because of Kasi McWhorter project consultant. She was very nice and patient with me. She answered all my questions. She took pictures with her drone and explained all the potential problem areas on my 23 year old roof. I accepted her quote and signed the same day. The price was in the middle of the others I received. The workers did an excellent job and clean up. I only had a little sweep up to do. I saw from my doorbell video while I was at work. That they took special care of my flower pots I had on the porch and front yard. They moved them out of danger and put them all back nicely after the job was done. Some of the pots I know weren't light either. Kasi even made a special trip for me to take after pictures. Because I wanted a good look of my new roof. Thank you Modern Exterior I'm glad I chose you. I'm very happy with my new roof. Special thanks to Kasi and the workers who took time to take such good care of me and my plants.
What Makes a Siding System Protect Your Bohners Lake Home?
Siding is the most visible part of a home's exterior walls, but it isn't working alone. A properly installed siding system includes multiple components that help manage water, protect the structure underneath, and create a finished exterior capable of handling Wisconsin's changing conditions.
This is particularly important when replacing older siding. Removing the existing material exposes areas of the home that normally remain hidden, giving the installation team an opportunity to see the condition of the exterior beneath it. Signs of previous moisture intrusion, deteriorated materials, or vulnerable transitions around windows and doors may not be obvious until the old siding comes off.
Siding is designed to shed most of the rain that reaches your home, but wind-driven rain and moisture can sometimes make their way behind the exterior surface. That's why the layers underneath the siding matter.
House wrap or another approved weather-resistant barrier helps create an additional line of protection and directs moisture away from the wall assembly. Proper installation is especially important around openings and transitions, where water needs a clear path to move outward rather than becoming trapped behind the exterior.
Some of the most important details on a siding project are also among the least noticeable once the work is finished. Windows, doors, corners, utility penetrations, roof-to-wall transitions, and other openings interrupt the siding system and require careful attention during installation.
Flashing and appropriate exterior detailing around these areas help manage water and protect the materials beneath the siding. Simply installing attractive new panels isn't enough if the transitions around them aren't handled correctly.
Not every siding problem means the entire exterior needs to be replaced. A loose or damaged section may sometimes be repairable, particularly when the surrounding siding and underlying wall assembly remain in good condition.
More widespread cracking, warping, loose panels, storm damage, deterioration, or evidence that moisture is getting behind the exterior can justify a more comprehensive evaluation. An aging exterior may also be replaced simply because the homeowner wants different materials, less maintenance, or an updated appearance.
The important part is determining what is actually happening before deciding on the solution.
Moisture Management
Proper barriers, flashing, and transitions help direct water away from the wall assembly.
Careful Exterior Detailing
Windows, doors, corners, and penetrations receive careful attention during installation.
Repair or Replacement
We evaluate the existing siding and help determine which approach makes sense for the home.
More Than a Cosmetic Upgrade
New siding can dramatically change the appearance of a Bohners Lake home, but the project is also an opportunity to think about how the entire exterior works together. Siding has to transition properly around windows and doors and interact with roofing, gutters, soffit, fascia, trim, and other exterior components.
Modern Exterior approaches siding replacement with those connections in mind. Whether you're dealing with damaged siding or planning a complete exterior renovation, we can evaluate the existing exterior, discuss material options, and help determine an appropriate approach for your home.

Engineered Siding Built for Demanding Conditions
Wisconsin homes experience a lot over the course of a year, from strong winds and summer storms to freezing temperatures, snow, and moisture. Choosing siding means considering not only how the material looks when it's installed, but how it is designed to perform through years of exposure.
For Bohners Lake homeowners looking for the character of wood with the advantages of an engineered product, LP® SmartSide® provides a durable and versatile option.
LP Smartside Siding
LP® SmartSide® is manufactured using engineered wood strand technology and is designed to resist impacts as well as damage from moisture, fungal decay, and termites. Market Square® vinyl siding combines a wood-inspired appearance with the practical benefits of a low-maintenance exterior. Available in a range of colors, profiles, and widths, it gives homeowners flexibility to update their exterior without the routine painting associated with traditional wood siding.
For Bohners Lake homes, vinyl can be a practical choice when the priorities are durability, straightforward maintenance, and a clean finished appearance that can handle year-round exposure to the elements.
Less Maintenance, More Time Enjoying Your Home
Exterior materials inevitably face sun, rain, snow, wind, and changing temperatures. Choosing a lower-maintenance siding material can reduce the amount of ongoing work required to keep the exterior looking finished.
Vinyl siding doesn't require routine repainting, and individual exterior details such as trim, soffit, fascia, and gutters can be coordinated with the siding to create a complete finished look. For homeowners who would rather spend their time enjoying their property than maintaining its exterior, that simplicity can be a significant advantage.
