About Us

Modern Exterior Roofing was founded on a simple but powerful idea: that homeowners deserve a contractor who values transparency, integrity, and craftsmanship, not pressure sales and broken promises.

Before launching Modern Exterior, founder Tyler Hull built his career in the engineering and construction world. He worked as a civil technician, surveyor, and land planner at JSD Engineering, where precision, professionalism, and accountability were the standard. When he transitioned into the roofing industry, he brought those values with him, but quickly discovered that not every company shared the same principles.

Tyler joined a roofing company where he and other sales reps were promised fair commissions and a future. But behind the scenes, things didn’t add up. Numbers were hidden. Promises weren’t kept. The leadership operated with questionable ethics, and the team paid the price. After experiencing firsthand how a lack of transparency could affect both employees and homeowners, Tyler and several like-minded colleagues made the decision to walk away.

Modern Exterior was born out of that experience with a mission to do things differently.

From day one, the company has operated with a focus on clear communication, fair pricing, and quality work without high-pressure tactics. Our team isn’t here to “sell jobs”; we’re here to guide homeowners through the process, educate them on their options, and deliver lasting results. We believe people can feel the difference when a company genuinely cares, and we’ve built a reputation around that belief.

As we’ve grown, we’ve helped thousands of families across Southeast Wisconsin with roofing, siding, insulation, and storm restoration projects. One moment that defines who we are came when we helped a mother of eight whose home had burned down. She had been stuck in a hotel for months, dealing with contractors who added endless change orders and delays. Our team stepped in, took over, and got her family back home quickly, respectfully, and without games. That’s what we’re here to do.

General Manager

Tyler Hull brings over fifteen years of expertise in residential construction, supported by a degree in Civil Engineering. His background includes overseeing large-scale projects such as The Rock Sports Complex in Franklin, the American Family Amphitheater, and Foxconn, giving him a deep understanding of construction at every level. As a state-licensed and certified roofing professional, Tyler combines technical precision with a genuine dedication to customer care. Known for his ability to listen, understand, and address homeowners’ concerns, he ensures that every client feels confident and supported throughout the roofing process. As a leader at Modern Exterior, Tyler sets the standard for professionalism, quality, and trust, guiding both his team and his customers with expertise and integrity. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and his cat, Behr.

Chase Seliger

Production Manager - Roofing

Chase is a state-licensed roofing professional and one of the first employees hired at Modern Exterior, where he played a pivotal role in building the company’s strong reputation for roofing in Milwaukee and the surrounding areas. With eight years of Military service, Chase brings unmatched discipline, commitment, and attention to detail to every project he takes on. His extensive background in exterior disaster restoration, paired with certifications in shingles, venting, and roof repair, ensures homeowners receive reliable solutions that stand the test of time. Chase has become a trusted resource for clients seeking both residential and commercial roofing expertise, and his dedication to quality craftsmanship continues to set Modern Exterior apart. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and his two corgis, Susan and Richard.

Nick Iles

Production Manager - Siding

Nick brings nearly a decade of production management experience supporting roofing companies and general contractors on a wide range of exterior projects. As the Windows & Siding Production Manager at Modern Exterior, he oversees projects with a focus on precision, efficiency, and high-quality craftsmanship. Known for his organized approach and clear communication, Nick helps ensure every project runs smoothly and delivers an exceptional experience for homeowners. Outside of work, Nick enjoys computer programming, playing the drums, and spending time with his wife and six children.

John Losiniecki

Residential Sales Manager

John is Modern Exterior’s Retail Sales Manager and an experienced professional roofer with many years in the roofing and exterior remodeling industry. He is state licensed, shingle certified, and venting certified, bringing homeowners the confidence that their projects are handled by a true expert. John specializes in roof repair, replacement, and exterior solutions across Milwaukee and the surrounding areas, combining in-depth product knowledge with a customer-first approach. His goal is always to provide clear guidance, honest recommendations, and tailored solutions that ensure lasting results. Outside of work, John enjoys riding his motorcycle, bringing the same passion and dedication to the open road as he does to helping clients protect and enhance their homes.

Nick Schliepp

Commercial Sales Manager

Nick Schliepp is the Commercial Sales Manager at Modern Exterior, bringing more than 24 years of experience in sales leadership and the construction industry. He has extensive experience driving growth in both residential and commercial markets, specializing in roofing and exterior construction solutions. Throughout his career, he has worked with a wide range of businesses across Wisconsin and Northern Illinois, including organizations such as Palermo’s Pizza, Lake Lawn Resort, and Kuhn North America. Nick holds a B.S. in Business Management and Marketing and has earned certifications through the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI), where he was also active in promoting careers in the skilled trades. Outside of work, Nick enjoys spending time with his two boys and assisting with defensive firearms instruction classes.

Dayna Leistikow

Admin Manager

Dayna is a highly professional and organized member of the Modern Exterior team, known for her exceptional communication skills and attention to detail. Her dedication and efficiency ensure projects run smoothly and clients receive the highest level of service. Outside of work, Dayna enjoys spending time with her family at their lake house up north, where she finds balance and inspiration.

Hailey Kellen

Roofing Project Manager

Hailey Kellen is a dedicated Project Manager at Modern Exterior, bringing five years of experience in the roofing and exterior remodeling industry. With a background working for another respected company in the field, she offers a strong understanding of project coordination, customer service, and quality control. Hailey is known for her organization, clear communication, and commitment to ensuring every project is completed efficiently and to the highest standard. She works closely with homeowners throughout the entire process, providing guidance and dependable solutions that deliver lasting results. Outside of work, Hailey enjoys spending time with her family, shark fishing, and taking long walks on the beach.

Barry Schmidt

Project Consultant

Barry brings more than 15 years of experience in the roofing industry, serving homeowners throughout the Madison area. With deep local knowledge and a strong understanding of roofing systems, he is known for his ability to clearly explain options and guide customers through the process with confidence. Barry takes pride in answering every question thoroughly and helping homeowners make informed decisions that best fit their needs.

Haylee Hull

Project Consultant

Haylee is a dedicated problem-solver with three years of experience in the roofing and exterior remodeling industry. As one of the youngest members of the Modern Exterior team, she brings a fresh perspective and strong work ethic to every project, supporting homeowners with dependable solutions in roof repair, shingle installation, and exterior upgrades. Jerson Meija

Roofing Team Leader

Jerson has been roofing since he was fourteen. He grew up roofing with his father and mother who also both worked in the roofing industry. Now Jerson manages his crew and has worked with Modern exterior for four years!

Kasi McWhorter

Project Consultant

Kasi brings years of experience to Modern Exterior, recognized for her growth mindset and exceptional problem-solving skills. With a degree in Neuroscience and minors in Psychology and Project Management, she applies analytical thinking, organization, and attention to detail to every project. Outside of work, Kasi enjoys creating innovative recipes, showcasing the same creativity and precision she brings to her professional role.

Xavier Straub

Xavier brings years of sales and marketing experience, using a client-first approach to guide homeowners through roofing and exterior projects. Rico is a Milwaukee-area native with more than 12 years of experience in sales and customer service. His background has helped him develop a strong relationship-driven approach, focused on creating exceptional experiences for every client he works with. Rico takes pride in building lasting connections and providing reliable guidance throughout the process, ensuring customers feel supported and confident from start to finish. Outside of work, Rico enjoys spending quality time with his wife and their two energetic young boys. He also enjoys the outdoors and has a strong passion for sports.

Her background has shaped a strong client-focused approach, allowing her to communicate clearly and guide customers confidently through every stage of their project. Dayne Fahrenbrunch

As a Marine Corps infantry veteran, he developed a strong foundation of resilience, accountability, and a mission-first mindset that carries into his work with homeowners across Wisconsin. His background includes hands-on experience in tree service, land management, and field service operations, along with a focus on safety and customer-focused solutions. Originally from Venezuela, Miguel has been working in roofing and siding since he was a teenager, bringing years of expertise and a strong work ethic to every project. Outside of work, Miguel is an avid New York Yankees fan, enjoying every game he can. He cherishes time spent with his wife and children, always prioritizing family while delivering top-quality craftsmanship.

Charlie Rono

Project Consultant

Charlie brings a strong background in customer relations and roofing industry experience, with a proven ability to challenge the status quo and deliver tailored solutions. After working with multiple startups and roofing companies in Milwaukee, he found his home at Modern Exterior as a Project Consultant, helping homeowners navigate the process with clarity and confidence. He specializes in roof repair, replacement, and exterior services, always promoting a quality-first approach. Outside of work, Charlie enjoys cooking and spending time with his wife and young daughter.

Erik Heun

Commercial Project Consultant

Erik, a Waukesha County native, brings over a decade of experience across logistics, construction, project management, sales, and business services. His well-rounded background and strong communication skills allow him to take a consultative approach with every client, ensuring their priorities are understood and their concerns are addressed. Erik is known for delivering tailored solutions and building long-term partnerships based on trust, transparency, and consistent results.

Outside of work, Erik enjoys spending time with his family, reading, and working out.

Ben Kluwe

Insurance Project Consultant

Ben brings more than 26 years of experience in the exterior construction industry to Modern Exterior. He began installing roofs in high school and went on to build a career working across a wide range of exterior systems, including roofing, siding, soffit, fascia, windows, doors, and gutters. Ben also spent seven years as the owner and operator of an exterior contracting company, where he generated and managed multi-million-dollar projects. With extensive experience in insurance restoration and storm damage claims, Ben has successfully sold and managed hail storm projects across the United States. A lifelong Wisconsin resident, he brings deep knowledge of Midwest building conditions and a practical, solutions-focused approach to helping homeowners restore and protect their homes.
